Which is better Framed Canvases or Stretched Canvas (no frame)?
Both framed and stretched canvases are created with the same canvas quality and print quality. The main thing we have noticed is that formal elegance of the floating frame makes a good impression for clients looking for a high end refined look. Our stretched canvases are very popular with designers looking to create more casual mix and match compositions into larger works that get much more visual volume without visual interference of a frame.
Creating a Cohesive Look – Framed Canvases
Although more expensive framed canvases can help give a high end allure to your space. We currently have frames in black, dark brown and white. Black is excellent in setting a very formal feel for the space. White frames offer a little more detail and tend to be matched with lighter coloured designs on light walls. Brown frames are well matched to many abstract or earth coloured artworks where a sense of age/heritage is sought.

They describe it as an freshness, new production almost out of the hands of the creator and hung onto the wall, without the added conception of where it is going more focused on what it is. Some of our clients actually prefer to take charge of framing the stretched canvas giving them greater control on the way the artwork ties in with their design. By doing this they can fine tune the frame size, profile and finish – giving them more control to make unique pieces and variants. Sometimes this is a great solution as the money saved on canvas cost can be upcycled into investing in a local frame specialist that has more options and can give you a personalised finished frame.
